Seit rund zwanzig Jahren arbeite ich mit demselben roten Faden, genau genommen einem grünen :) Menschen, Unternehmen und Themen so zusammenzubringen, dass Lösungen und Ökosysteme entstehen. Meine Vision war schon immer, dass sich Profit und Wirkung nicht ausschliessen. Innovation und Technologie sind dabei für mich wichtige Werkzeuge.

Nachhaltigkeit ist für mich nie eine Fussnote im Geschäftsbericht gewesen, sondern der Ausgangspunkt.

Heute führe ich öbu, den ältesten Schweizer Verband für nachhaltiges Wirtschaften, mit rund 300 Mitgliedsunternehmen. Davor habe ich bei Habitat for Humanity ShelterTech geleitet, die weltweit führende Plattform für Innovation im bezahlbaren Wohnen. Sie gehört zum Terwilliger Center, dessen Arbeit über 45,2 Millionen Menschen den Zugang zu besseren Wohnlösungen eröffnet hat. Ein Sektor, der für rund ein Drittel der weltweiten CO2-Emissionen verantwortlich ist. Und als Botschafterin des Helvetia Projekts für den Schweizer Schutzwald habe ich mitgeholfen, mehr als 200'000 Bäume zu pflanzen.

Innovation heisst für mich, Lösungen neu zu denken und umzusetzen, aus dem Status quo auszubrechen und aus Komplexem etwas Neues zu schaffen. Auf den Philippinen habe ich als Mitgründerin den Impact Hub aufgebaut, bei Kickstart junge Firmen mit Konzernen, Städten und Hochschulen an einen Tisch gebracht und mehrere eigene Unternehmen gegründet, geführt und wieder verkauft. Eines davon stellt Sportbrillen her, die seit über einem Jahrzehnt bei der Rega im Einsatz sind, was ich als Nachweis dafür verbuche, dass ein gutes Produkt auch auf 3'000 Metern nicht auseinanderfällt. ;)

Technologie begleitet mich, seit ich bei Credit Suisse CIF-Nummern in ein MS-DOS-System eingetippt habe, zu einer Zeit, als Cloud noch etwas war, das am Himmel stand. Später verantwortete ich UpLink, die digitale Plattform des World Economic Forum, die Startups und Grosskonzerne zusammenführt, um Themen wie Klimawandel und Wasserknappheit anzugehen. Bei jeder neuen Technologie frage ich als Erstes, was sie kann und wem sie nützt. Dass mein Weg im Banking begann, hat mich nie ganz losgelassen: Für ein Mandat im Bankrat der Zürcher Kantonalbank zählte ich zuletzt zu den drei Finalistinnen.

Was all diese Stationen verbindet, ist eine hartnäckige Zuneigung zu Unternehmen, zu Plattformen und vor allem zu den Menschen, die alles zum Leben erwecken. Dieselbe Überzeugung hat mich mit meiner Familie die Starlight PH Association gründen lassen, die auf den Philippinen Menschen und Tiere in Notlagen unterstützt. Besonders am Herzen liegen mir die Senior:innen.

Ich bin binational zwischen zwei sehr unterschiedlichen Kulturen und Lebensrealitäten aufgewachsen, was mich nachhaltig geprägt hat. Deshalb sind Gleichberechtigung, Fairness, Offenheit und Toleranz für mich zentral und wichtig. Ich schätze echte Verbundenheit und Loyalität. Gleichzeitig bin ich neugierig, abenteuerlustig und immer offen dafür, Neues zu entdecken.

Ich halte Ausbildungen von der FHNW und Universität St. Gallen. Ich wohne mit meinem Mann und unseren zwei Kindern in Zürich und bin in Bern aufgewachsen. Ich spreche perfekt Deutsch und Englisch. Und meine Lieblingsfarbe ist blau und violett. :)

For nearly twenty years I have followed the same thread, a green one, to be precise :) I bring people, companies and ideas together so that real solutions, and whole ecosystems, can take shape. I have always believed that profit and impact belong together, not in opposition, and innovation and technology are how I make that case.

Sustainability was never a footnote in the annual report for me. It was where everything began.

Today I lead öbu, Switzerland's oldest association for sustainable business, home to around 300 member companies. Before that I headed ShelterTech at Habitat for Humanity, the world's leading platform for innovation in affordable housing and part of the Terwilliger Center, whose work has opened the door to better housing for more than 45.2 million people, in a sector responsible for roughly a third of global CO2 emissions. And as an ambassador of the Helvetia Project for the Swiss protective forest, I helped plant more than 200,000 trees.

For me, innovation means rethinking solutions and actually building them, breaking out of the status quo and making something new from the complex. In the Philippines I co-founded and built the Impact Hub; at Kickstart I brought startups together with corporations, cities and universities; and I have founded, led and sold several companies of my own. One of them makes sports eyewear that has been in service with Switzerland's Rega air rescue for over a decade, which I take as proof that a good product holds together at 3,000 metres too. ;)

Technology has been part of my story since I keyed CIF numbers into an MS-DOS terminal at Credit Suisse, back when the cloud was still just something in the sky. Later I led UpLink, the World Economic Forum's digital platform that connects startups with major corporations to tackle challenges such as climate change and water scarcity. With every new technology, my first question is the same: what can it do, and who does it serve? And my start in banking has never quite let go of me, most recently I was one of three finalists for a seat on the bank council of Zürcher Kantonalbank.

What ties all of these chapters together is a stubborn fondness for companies, for platforms and, above all, for the people who bring them to life. That same conviction led my family and me to found the Starlight PH Association, which supports people and animals in hardship in the Philippines. Seniors are especially close to my heart.

I grew up binational, between two very different cultures and ways of life, and it has shaped me for good. That is why equality, fairness, openness and tolerance matter so much to me. I value genuine connection and loyalty, and at the same time I stay curious, adventurous and always open to something new.

I hold degrees from the FHNW and the University of St. Gallen. I live in Zurich with my husband and our two children, and I grew up in Bern. I speak German and English fluently. And my favourite colours are blue and violet. :)
